Levels of Care for Teens and Young Adults
With our teen rehab programs, there’s structured support at different levels. Each stage blends therapy, skills practice, and family involvement. Your teen starts at the level suitable for their needs and steps down as they get better.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
PHP is a day treatment for teens who need more than weekly therapy but go home at night. Sessions take place during the day, typically from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Mondays through Fridays. Each day includes group therapy, safety planning, and family time. The goal is to lessen symptoms, build coping skills, and step down when ready.
IOP offers sessions several days per week. This allows your teen to keep up with schooling. They’ll work through group therapy, one-on-one sessions, and skills practice. IOP suits those moving from PHP or needing regular support.
Your teen can attend PHP or IOP therapy online through secure video calls. Virtual care lets teens with transport, weather, or distance setbacks receive care. Telehealth options also help families stay consistent with their teen’s treatment. Remote, structured youth mental health care can be effective for common conditions when clinician-guided.
Daily Schedules and Structure
Programs create routines that reduce stress and help with well-being:
- PHP mirrors school day with therapy and skills practice
- IOP offers flexible groups so teens can stay in school
- Virtual care uses private video with clear safety plans

How do PHP and IOP differ?
PHP is daytime, more intensive care with more frequent, structured therapy sessions. IOP occurs several days per week, so your teen can stay in school.
Is virtual treatment effective for teens?
Clinician-led telehealth treatment that follows a personalized routine helps many teens manage anxiety, depression, and related needs. You receive secure video and clear safety plans.
Will my teen see a psychiatrist?
Yes. All teens receive a psychiatric evaluation. We discuss medication options when advised as right for them.
Do you treat substance use and mental health together?
Yes. If both are present, we stabilize substance use first and support mental health throughout care. Mixing therapy with appropriate medications is a recognized approach for many teens with substance use problems.
Can my teen start medication support by telehealth?
Federal telemedicine rules for prescribing controlled medications remain in effect through December 31, 2025, with safeguards. Our clinicians follow all federal and Colorado-specific rules.
Do you coordinate with schools?
We ensure you get relevant documentation, and we can work with schools when needed. Ask our team about current options and timelines.
Do you accept insurance?
We work with most major insurers as an out-of-network provider and will verify benefits before care begins.
